Wow. What can we say about this artist’s amazing sculptures that you can’t already tell from the photo above? Ellen Jewett’s sculptures are absolutely stunning. Fashioned from wire and clay and then handpainted with brushes (and her fingers, according to her website).

View more of her sculptures on her website or in her Etsy store>> She also takes requests for custom work. Join her mailing list on her website to be notified when she has new sculptures available!

Throwback Ten Years: Cape Horn

bjm_capehorn_squareTen years ago this month, Bethany was way down south traveling through Argentina and along the Antarctic Peninsula–one of the most amazing adventures of her life.

In this photo still taken from a video, she’s standing at the ship’s rail as they sailed past Cape Horn at the southern tip of Chile.

The Cape is the northern boundary of the Drake Passage, the body of water that separates South America from the Shetland Islands of Antarctica.

It’s one of the roughest bodies of water in the world as she can attest to after the severe motion sickness she suffered during both crossings.

But she swears that the time on the Antarctic Peninsula was well worth the rough trip. Absolutely wonderful.
