A World of Food for Kids

warner_world-of-food_coverLondon-based artist and photographer Carl Warner has just released a wonderful children’s book! His magical imaginary worlds come to life using beautiful food and clever poems.

Each world is a single color: pink candy land, red mountains, green forest, yellow desert, and more.

“If all the world were brown, We’d live on chocolate cake, Where chocolate trains would ride around a melted-toffee lake”

Definitely fun for kids to identify the food ingredient used to make the various parts of the worlds. You can check your answers with the list at the end of the book.

And, maybe think a while about which world you’d like to live in most!

It’s also an interesting look at the creative process as Warner explains his work and how he became an artist.

Wolves Enjoying a Seattle Spring Day

bam_wolves12_squareThe whole family spent the day at the Woodland Park Zoo last weekend for the annual Easter celebration.

Our fellow Seattleites were out in force, enjoying the beautiful weather, the egg hunt, and the other activities.

The animals also seemed to be enjoying the beautiful spring day with its plentiful sunshine and glorious blue skies.

We captured some great shots that day including a close-up of a sleeping flamingo surrounded by his loud and smelly neighbors and this shot of the wolves hanging out in the sun, taken by Darren’s 12-year-old son.
