bjm_chinstrap-aitcho_squareCalling all penguin lovers! Here at Darcy Place Studio, we are certified penguin aficionados and often use photographs of real life penguins to inspire our designs.

The British Antarctic Survey posts a new penguin photo every day in its “Penguin of the Day” image gallery. The penguins are adorable and the photos are fantastic.

In their honor, we present our Penguins of the Day: Chinstrap penguins in their nesting ground on Aitcho Islands (one of the many penguin photos Bethany took while in the Antarctic Peninsula in 2001).

Riding the Rails for the First Time

mjm_thomas12_squareSo, the youngest member of our family has been obsessed with trains (and cars) since he was born.

Of course, he also loves Thomas the Tank Engine so he was excited to spend A Day Out with Thomas at the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie.

The Thomas-themed activities were fun but the biggest thrill was riding a real train…his first time! The train left from the restored train depot and the 25-minute ride carried us to the top of Snoqualmie Falls and back.

A conductor checked our tickets and the view was stunning! His favorite part: hanging out the window and watching the world go by!

We’re feeling rather beachy around the Studio lately and ready to enjoy the beautiful summer weather! And, these adorable panda designs by Bethany are a great starting point!
